Holman is a junior journalism major at the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism and she is also pursuing a minor in law and public policy. She is “eager to gain experience in the media field, particularly focused on politics, entertainment and East Asian culture.” She has studied abroad in China and the Czech Republic. She also participated in the 2014 NABJ’s Student Multimedia Projects. She is well involved on campus as both a writer and news, copy and online editor for the Daily Trojan, She is the President for the USC Association for Black Journalists, She hosts a show on KXSC Radio and she is also a member of Society 53.
Currently, Holman is the editorial intern for Variety Magazine and online where she he covers entertainment news and red carpets. She writes for both print and web and is also responsible for pitching stories and communicating with publicists. As an intern for Variety, Holman has attended several events and written stories on people such as Taylor Kitsch, Michael Burns, Rob Friedman, Julia Roberts, Kevin Hart, Donna Langley and many more figures in popular culture. She is also a blogger for Young Adult Politicks, a blog she founded, which is dedicated to discussing the topic of politics and its effects on young adults. yapoliticks.wordpress.com Additionally, she was an intern for Assemblymember Reginald Jones-Sawyer’s Office. As an intern she planned a media roundtable with local news outlets and the assemblymember. She also created materials, certificates of community members and often canvassed the district, handing out flyers.
